Recycled Polyester fabric
An ethical process
One of the first thing that strikes you as you arrive in Cambodia is the enormous accumulation of waste, particularly plastic bottles.
Since their decomposition takes between 100 and 1,000 years, the incredible amount of litter created spoils the landscape, pollutes the water supplies and ruins the surrounding environment, not to mention the health risks.
That’s why Samatoa promotes the production of recycled polyester fabric from those PET bottles waste. Recycled Polyester decreases our use of petroleum, keeps waste out of landfills, and lowers our overall carbon footprint. It has been estimated that the whole production process of recycled polyester consumes 75% less CO₂ emissions than virgin polyester. It also requires way less water to produce that non-organic cotton fabric.
